Mount Kilimanjaro Climb / Trek - Marangu Route - Kilimanjaro - Itinerary

Marangu Trek is the most popular route up Mount Kilimanjaro, and is in fact probably followed by 90% of all climbers. It has a well-defined path, which has been well set out resulting to a 'climber friendly trekking experience'. Marangu Trek is a very scenic route with good views of Mawenzi and excellent chances for viewing wildlife. Accommodation on this route is in mountain huts providing basic adequate shelter.

Machame Route - Kilimanjaro - Itinerary - Mount Kilimanjaro Climb / Trek

Machame Trek is a more demanding but much less climbers traffic and scenic route up Mount Kilimanjaro. The trek is a day longer and the overnights on Mount Kilimanjaro are spent camping in tents, which are carried and pitched by the accompanying porters. Highlights of this route are the Shira Plateau, Barranco Wall and the Karanga Valley reaching the summit via Stella Point. Because this route traverses river valleys on the Southern Slopes, it is recommended that trekkers must be physically fit, and with the additional day on trek to assist with acclimatization, there is a good chance of reaching the summit - Uhuru Peak.

Upon arrival at the Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), Arusha Airport (ARK) or Arusha or Moshi Bus Station, guest will be personally met by our Moshi office. We will be standing outside the arrival section holding a signboard with your name on it. You will be transferred to Mountain Inn in Moshi for an overnight stay. Day 3

Trek following the steep ridge, across heath, moorland to 'picnic rock' and the Shira plateau, to Shira Camp site at 12500ft/3800m for an overnight camp taking about five to seven hours. Overnight will be at Shira Camp on Mount Kilimanjaro. (B.L.D)

Day 4

Heading towards Kibo, crossing a broad valley and climbing to a ridge crest, crossing scree slopes and a river valley to reach Barranco Camp site 13000ft/3900m for an overnight camp taking about five to seven hours. Overnight will be at Barranco Camp on Mount Kilimanjaro. (B.L.D)
